“Let’s Talk About the Elephant”
Welcome!
So glad you’re here!
My name is Joanne and I offer culturally-responsive, trauma-sensitive, and perinatal mental health therapy exclusively through telehealth. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Qualified Supervisor in FL for Registered MH & MFT Interns. I am also licensed in CA, WA, MI, MT, TN, IN, NC, LA, and MO. I am a Board Certified National Counselor (NCC), Certified EMDR Therapist, Certified Perinatal Mental Health Therapist (PMH-C), Trained Brainspotting Therapist, Certified Prepare/Enrich Facilitator, and also trained in Levels 1 & 2 of The Gottman Method for Couples Therapy.
I strongly believe in the power of our sense of connection and belonging, and how these play a role in cultivating authenticity, emotional honesty and transparency, humility and accountability, and willingness for vulnerability within ourselves.
“Every relationship is a cross cultural experience… Culture is about how we make things have meaning.” —John Gottman
Services are also offered in Tagalog (Filipino).

What’s Next?
You've done your research. You've tried to "make it work." You've probably even tried to just put a smile on your face and "be strong" but it just doesn't match how you feel inside. Feeling alone and misunderstood hurts. Perhaps you grew up being told that there was no place for how you felt, receiving the message insinuation to "just get over it" and “move on.” Maybe something just feels like it's missing even after everything you've accomplished or tried to perfect. You've done so much work yet you might still feel stuck, trapped, confused, or just unsure of what comes next. Building relationships with others can be tough enough as it is, what more building a relationship with your self? Learning how to live life on life's terms can be challenging.
You might be wondering how therapy or counseling can even help.
